Message I recently had Andy do a bunch of work on my 90TT for me. After what seems like emailing the entire summer back and forth over schedules and parts lists, I finally got a little time off in September to take my car to him. Loaded the Z on a U-haul and took off with my little sister from central Arkansas 9 hours to him in Il. Somehow we showed up only like 20 minutes late I think and immediately unloaded parts from the backseat of the truck and then unloaded the Z itself. Talking to Andy in person further confirmed everything I had read about him and the good vibes I picked up on in our conversations prior. Side note: Maglito, if you read this I saw your car while I dropped mine off, it's gorgeous!

He had warned me he wasn't going to start the next day on my car but would be I think 2 weekends out. I didn't mind as I work on the road and had all the time in the world. I'm almost positive he started on it several days early. He had been texting me, disappeared for a few hours, and reappeared with a text of my engine on the stand. :)

Upgrades include: SZ oil pan, full breathers except for 2.5 cat back, Sport 700s, SZ max street clutch/RPS segmented flywheel, BDE low profiles, etc. I also had him install an EBC, WBO2, Oil temp, coolant temp gauges, as well as a Z1 full-flow oil cooler kit with a thermostatic adapter. To top it off, he also converted almost my entire air conditioning system to R-134 parts save for the compressor and evaporator. I'll let Andy post pictures and details when he chimes in.

Andy works a weird schedule as far as I can tell. He never sleeps and runs off Mountain Dew and WD40 I guess. Almost every morning I woke up to an email with details and pictures, problems and suggested solutions, etc. Pretty much the only time he didn't update me was when he had family business which is understandable to say the least.

He told me it would be ready by late last week, so I bought a one-way ticket for a plane to West Peoria. There were a few last minute issues that arose but Andy put those to rest as well. He picked me up Friday the 18th at the airport in the Z and even before I saw him round the corner I could hear the difference in the car! We first went to the gas station because apparently the Z isn't fuel efficient when it's with Andy ;) After that he took me out a bit from town and opened up the throttle. I love it! The car is totally a different animal. Gave me some advice and suggestions and we went back to his house to put as many of my old parts in the car as we could cram in. He also showed me problem parts he saved to prove he wasn't just replacing random parts. He's very thorough to say the least. Both times I saw him I wished I didn't have such a long trip home, I would have loved to have stayed around and talked more Z stuff.

I left out around 3:30, headed home. I-55 S from the Peoria area sucks. For about a million miles there is nothing but corn fields and the speed limit is 65mph. Everyone is doing 75 or more and I'm the slow poke playing it safe at 70mph. That road is infuriating. Then I went around St. Louis only to literally drive in the rain from 15 minutes SW of STL to my home almost 400 solid miles. What a crock of crap luck that was...

The car performed flawlessly. It still needs a tune but so far as I've opened it up, it pulls like a freight train on steroids. Sounds great, everything works as it should, no complaints.

Andy is awesome. If you're in the area...or definitely not, like me...give him a shout. He's very detail oriented, affordable, communicates extremely well, and does what he says he'll do. If you're on the fence, my contact info is in my profile, I'll push you over.
